YEREVAN. – President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Ara Babloyan, on Monday received Konstantin Zatulin, First Vice-Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots.

They reflected on Armenian-Russian parliamentary relations, and underscored the need to strengthen bilateral social, political, spiritual and cultural ties, the NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Separately, Zatulin noted that he was launching an initiative, whose objective is to give new impetus to the strengthening of Armenian-Russian ties. As per the Russian MP, this initiative will seek to create a new platform for informal state, scientific, cultural, and public communication between the two countries.

Also, the interlocutors discussed the preparations for the plenary sessions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA) Council and Assembly, and which Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan will host on October 29 and 30.
