President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on the termination of the treaty on friendship, cooperation and partnership between Ukraine and Russia from April 1, 2019, 112 Ukraine TV channel reported.

The non-renewal of the treaty with Russia should not be viewed as an episode, but as part of the strategy for a final break with the colonial past and reorientation towards Europe.

The document has already been signed by the head of parliament, Andrei Paruby. The law will come into force on the day after its official publication.
