STEPANAKERT. – Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) Defense Army serviceman Rafik Vahanyan (born in 1999) sustained a gunshot wound, on Sunday at around 3:50pm, at the protection area of a military unit of the defense army.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense Central Clinical Military Hospital in capital city Yerevan informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the soldier, who was hospitalized with a gunshot wound in the eye, is in moderate condition.

"If necessary, the soldier will be operated," representatives of the hospital said, adding that it is still unknown whether the soldier’s vision was damaged or not.
