European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker questioned the ability of Romanian authorities to lead the European Union, DW reported.

He recognized Romania is technically well prepared for the EU presidency and noted that Bucharest’s actions require the ability to hear others and a strong willingness to subordinate their interests to the interests of others.

Since July 2018, the EU Council was headed by Austria. In the second half of 2019, Finland will be the chair, followed by Croatia and Germany (in 2020).
