The hearing on the motion to release Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan from custody on bail has resumed Wednesday.

In addition to the motion for bail, Kocharyan’s legal defense team on Tuesday filed a petition with the Constitutional Court (CC), and in connection with the law regulations pursuant to the Criminal Procedure Code. According to his lawyers, if the CC rules in favor of their petition, this will directly reflect on Robert Kocharyan and on the Criminal Court of Appeal decision with respect to remanding him in custody.

The completely burned dead body of a woman with a part of her hand and her head completely separated from her body was discovered Wednesday, at an apartment in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

An electric heater was found near the completely burned down body, and, according to preliminary information, this device was the cause of the fire.

Negotiations on the Russian natural gas tariffs have started as of Tuesday between Gazprom Armenia company and the Armenian government.

They will conclude when an option will be found to effectively resolve the matter, Acting Deputy Prime Minister Mher told Grigoryan NEWS.am. In his words, according to the arrangement, Gazprom Armenia will not submit a bid for gas tariff revision before the end of the negotiations.

As of the New Year, the Russian natural gas price has increased on Armenia’s border rising by $15 per 1,000 cubic meters. But Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had stated that the gas prices will not go up for Armenia’s consumers.

Three members of one family were killed in Artsakh as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Mother, father and their five-year-old son were killed. Another 8-year-old child was transported to hospital. His condition has stabilized, the doctors said.
