The meeting of Armenia’s acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov lasted more than four hours.

“The interlocutors touched upon a wide range of issues related to the peace process, including preparing populations for peace, security and sustainable economic development,” Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The statement by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, who also participated in the meeting, said they had considered “next steps toward a possible summit between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in order to give a strong impulse to the dynamic of negotiations”.

Resident of Barekamavan community of Tavush province Arman Mikayelyan has been injured as a result of a landmine explosion on Armenian-Azerbaijani border on Wednesday.

The man was transported to the hospital of Noyemberyan, his injury is not life-threatening.

President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian signed a decree to re-appoint Mher Grigoryan and Tigran Avinyan as Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia.

They were appointed based on the proposal of PM Nikol Pashinyan.

Armenian Grigor Sargsyan, 28, known as “Maestro”, is suspected of being the leader of a syndicate organizing fixing tennis matches with more than 100 players across Europe.

Sargsyan was arrested in Belgium last June, charged with organizing fixing matches and tampering with the results.

According to the AP, it is not yet clear whether the Belgian syndicate is linked to the criminal group, partially composed of Armenians, arrested last week in Spain.

 Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos from January 22 to 25.

The forum is entitled “Globalization 4.0: Shaping a New Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.
