YEREVAN. – We can record that we are entering the phase of implementation of the Armenia-European Union (EU) agreement, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Government of Armenia.
In his words, in this connection, it was recorded in Brussels that the EU is completely ready to assist Armenia in its reform agenda and, in general, in the agenda of implementing development programs in the country.
“[But] here it’s very important to record that there is no geopolitical agenda by the EU and by us [Armenia] in this cooperation, [and] which is very important,” Pashinyan stressed.
Also, he informed that several mega projects have been discussed with the EU.
“The first group of them refers to roads and transport infrastructures,” the PM noted. “Our objective is that the motorways in Armenia be brought to European standards, as well as we have to make important decisions regarding the North-South [Road Corridor construction].
“The next big project is the plan of implementing a reservoir construction project in Armenia, and the introduction of a new water-management system.
“The next task is to carry out school building. We [Armenia] are implementing such a project, but we need to considerably extend the scope of that project.”
