YEREVAN. – We imagine Armenia as a country that has high qualification, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the government.

He noted this during the debates on the amendments to the country’s tax law.

“Of course, this is substantially linked to education, education reforms,” the PM added. “Most of the workforce in Armenia shall be people who have high qualification, who receive high salaries.”

Pashinyan stressed that they plan to introduce the precept of social justice by way of introducing a new property tax system.

“No one in Armenia has become a wealthy person with [just] salary,” the PM noted. “That’s why (…) the [tax] burden (…) shall be put on property because property clearly shows who is rich, who is poor.”
