Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is on an official visit to Kigali, met his Rwandan counterpart Richard Sezibera, Armenian MFA’s press service reported.

Minister Sezibera found it noteworthy that the visit was taking place amid the events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda.

The two noted the IT, digital economy, and creative education as a priority area of cooperation and highlighted the importance of continuing joint efforts in the issue of preventing genocides and crimes against humanity.

Mnatsakanyan also highlighted the importance of the reconciliation of the peoples who survived the genocide.

“We have been through the horror of genocide; we know the consequences of genocide. Our principled position is to consolidate the approach “from now on never”, so that no people face what our peoples went through,” he said.

Rwandan FM presented the experience of reconciliation of his country.
