Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan has responded to MP Naira Zohrabyan on his Facebook page.

A while ago, Mrs. Zohrabyan, who is in Strasbourg, gave me 24 hours to deny or prove that she ahd invited the specific NGO representative who caused a ruckus in parliament.

And so:

(1) the open invitation was sent by the Standing Committee on Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs of the National Assembly (photo 2), and the chairperson of the Committee is Mrs. Zohrabyan.

(2) the guests had registered at the secretariat of the Committee in advance, and the head of the secretariat is Mrs. Zohrabyan.

(3) the list of participants and the list of persons entering the National Assembly for hearings were approved by Mrs. Zohrabyan, who asked for those persons to be admitted (photo 1).

Question: Who invited the guests?

There is nothing surprising or extraordinary since nobody is authorized to take the aforementioned steps besides the chairperson of the Committee.

The only thing that is painful is the fact that Mrs. Zohrabyan is throwing the “blame” on others instead of dealing with human rights protection.
