YEREVAN. – The package of bills is aimed at finding out the actual proprietors of the natural resource extraction companies of Armenia, and their further registration.

The Acting Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources, Garegin Baghramyan, stated about the aforesaid at Friday’s meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, during the debates on the package of bills with respect to making amendments to several relevant laws.

In his words, the procedures for the registration of the real owners of these companies are also considered in the said package of proposed laws.

“We have studied the [respective] international track-record—especially the track-record of Great Britain, Ukraine, Moldova, and several other countries—on this matter,” Baghramyan added.

The Standing Committee on Economic Affairs gave a positive conclusion to this package of bills.
