Russian President Vladimir Putin said he did not consider it necessary to impose sanctions against Georgia out of respect for the Georgian people, TASS reported.
According to him, anti-Russian sentiments in the country are being inflated by people who do not know the history and ultimately harm Georgia.
Presenter Giorgi Gabunia used offensive language in a Russian-language message to Mr Putin on Sunday. Rustavi-2 has apologised for his outburst.
