The part of the bridge for automobiles was damaged as a result of the explosion that took place on the Yerevan-Sevan motorway Friday, as reported Armenian News-NEWS.am’s correspondent from the scene of the incident.

The blast led to the damage of two cars, including a Range Rover (555 LL 05 license plate number) and a Nissan (35 MD 686 license plate number). There are no victims or injured persons. Drivers were driving over the bridge during the blast.

According to Gagik Shamshyan, the Range Rover belongs to former deputy of the National Assembly, businessman Melik Manukyan (nicknamed “Shshi Melo”).

Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations had reported that on August 2 at 12:17 p.m., the 911 emergency hotline received a call that an explosion had taken place nearby the Statue of Eagle on the Yerevan-Sevan motorway, no one was affected, but rescuers were needed.

A rescue squad was dispatched to the scene.

It was found out that about 30 meters of this motorway had become difficult to pass.
