I’m certain that Armenia is going to have one of the best intelligence services in the world. This is what Director of the National Security Service of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan told journalists in Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic today.

As far as the creation of a separate institution for foreign intelligence, Vanetsyan said this issue has been considered. “There is still no decision. I have suggested separating it from the National Security Service in the initial period, but we need to take into consideration the fact that this will require additional resources and an evaluation of the effectiveness.”

Vanetsyan said there is a need for serious reforms in the legal system of Armenia. “I believe there will be an initiative soon, and there will be serious reforms in the legal system of the country.”

While talking about Armenia’s goals for the year 2050 during the rally held in Stepanakert yesterday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also mentioned that Armenia needs to have one of the world’s 10 most effective intelligence services.
