Armenia’s Armed Forces have taken objects of strategic significance under their control. This is what Spokesperson of the Minister of Defense of Armenia Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am touching upon the news that the Armenian armed forces have occupied a new line in the northern sector of Tavush Province, taking control of the gas pipeline from Georgia to Armenia and the Armenia-Georgia highway.

“Azerbaijan isn’t going to take this easy because it lost control over the gas pipeline after having control for 25 years. This is of pivotal and strategic significance for Armenia,” he said.

Artsrun Hovhannisyan stated that the Ministry of Defense usually keeps this information confidential in order to ensure servicemen’s safety.

Earlier, historian, military expert Artur Yeghiazaryan had written on his Facebook page that the Armed Forces of Armenia has achieved serious success in the northern sector of Tavush Province and has managed to liberate more than 140 hectares of area, as a result of which the Azerbaijan-Georgia highway is in the target of the Armenian troops, the Azerbaijani village of Ikinji Shkhl and all the areas and grazing fields of the village are in the target zone.
