YEREVAN. – The state authorities are doing nothing to fight against unlawful transportation of commuters. Hrant Yeghiazaryan, Chairman of the Union of Road Carriers of Armenia, stated this at a press conference on Thursday.

Furthermore, in his words, public transport in Armenia has been transferred from the respective ministry to individuals and companies that have no idea about this domain.

Yeghiazaryan said the plans of Yerevan Municipality are not clear with respect to the public transportation of commuters of the capital city.

He added that if the mayor orders the write off of 400 passenger vans, a public transport collapse could start in Yerevan.
