President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is against the country’s transition to a parliamentary system of governance.
According to him, making reforms is impossible without changing the public and political life in the country, reports Nur.kz.
“My formula for public administration is a strong and plenipotentiary president, a functional and influential parliament and a government that is accountable to the nation. As we know, this is still only a formula. We need to implement it. I am certain that Kazakhstan must remain a presidential state, but the parliament has to have its worthy place in the political system,” Tokayev said.
