YEREVAN. – We are all going to Gyumri on September 21. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia (RA), Nikol Pashinyan, wrote this on his Facebook page.

“I would like to remind that as of this year, we are starting the process of holding the main event of the Independence [Day anniversary] celebrations in the provinces,” he added, in particular. “The first such event will take place on September 21 of this year in Gyumri. The office of the government promises an unforgettable event; and the previous year’s experience showed that they can deliver on that promise.

“And so that the celebration does not leave [capital city] Yerevan and the other cities also look festive, I believe it is worthwhile for our citizens, who have the desire, to decorate their balconies overlooking the streets—with motives of independence. There is even an idea to do a competition for the best [respective] building.

“The simplest way to make a building festive is to hang the RA national flag from the window, or the balcony.”
