The farewell ceremony for Hovsep Bedoyan, the pastor of the Armenian Catholic Church in Qamishli, and his father, Hamma, was held today, as reported Arevelq news agency, according to Armenpress.

The farewell ceremony was held at the St. Hovsep Church of the Armenian Catholic Community of Qamishli. The religious ceremony was conducted by Primate of the Armenian Catholic Community of Qamishli, Father Supreme Archimandrite Antranig Aivazian, and among the attendees were Vicar of the Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Qamishli, Friar Levon Yeghiaian and religious leaders of the sister communities.

During the religious ceremony held in the presence of hundreds of mourners, Father Supreme Archimandrite Antranig considered the deceased priest a martyr of all Christians and the Syrian homeland. According to tradition, the body of Priest Hovsep was buried in a special drawer located at the bottom of the church’s altar, and his father’s body was buried at the cemetery of Qamishli.
