A group of archeologists from Peru discovered a megalithic water cult temple around 800 kilometers from Lima, modern Peru’s capital city.

The monument, which is over 40 meters long and has a 15-meter stairs, is located in the springs of the Zaña Valley river, Planet Today reported.

The scientists also found 21 graves that date back to between 1,500 BC to 292 AD. Ceramic and metal objects of different periods, including older period of the Incan Empire, were found in the graves.

The temple was found in October, but the official statement was postponed not to draw too much attention of treasure hunters.
