Former Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was elected Chairman of the Future Party, which he founded, at the session of the founding council of this new political force in Turkey.

At the session, the party also elected a governing board, which included one of the co-founders of the party, Istanbul Armenian journalist Etyen Mahcupyan, according to the Turkish Demokrathaber website.

Mahcupyan was Davutoglu's chief adviser when he had served as prime minister.
