President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian has conveyed a congratulatory message on the occasion of National Security Service Officer’s Day. The message reads as follows:

“Dear officers and veterans of national security bodies,

I cordially congratulate you on National Security Service Officer’s Day.

Security bodies have been and remain one of the institutions of statehood that serve as pillars.

The National Security Service has taken a difficult path and has managed to become a Service that clearly realizes its mission and treats it seriously.

The modern world is moving forward at a crazy speed. Alongside this, the threats and challenges are not only growing and becoming more complicated, but are also changing in terms of nature and forms of manifestation. However, the state and national interest remains unchanged, and this has to be the guide for each of us, especially the officers of national security bodies.

The maintenance of sovereignty, security, territorial integrity and constitutional order and the ensuring of citizen’s rights and freedoms underlie the activities of security bodies. A lot also depends on the dedication, actions, sense of duty and responsibility, professionalism and morale of each officer of the National Security Service.

Taking into consideration the race and competition of new ideas and technologies, we need to be able to combine knowledge, experience and technologies effectively.

By honoring the veterans of the Service, today we are appreciating our known and unknown heroes and the fighters who have provided great services to ensure efficiency of foreign intelligence and ensuring of state security.

Today, the veterans of the Service are transmitting their rich experience and skills and the best traditions to the young generation.

Once again, I congratulate you on the occasion of National Security Service Officer’s Day. I wish you all health and success in accomplishing your difficult tasks, as well as peace and welfare to your families.”
