Armenia is leading negotiations with Azerbaijan, and from its own positions. This is what Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan declared in parliament today, responding to a question from deputy of the My Step faction Sos Avetisyan, who asked about details of Mnatsakanyan’s upcoming meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart.

As the foreign minister stated, this is a necessary process, and there is no goal to dodge meetings. “If the other side believes it has such an opportunity, we are particularly ready. I would like to emphasize that the key component for ensuring peace in the process of negotiations is linked to the reduction of risks of tension, and Armenia has achieved some success in this regard,” Mnatsakanyan emphasized.

He also declared that the process of preparing the societies of the two countries for peace is also extremely important.
