At least five countries have aligned themselves with the framework for sanctions against Turkey for unauthorized drilling activities in the exclusive economic zone or continental shelf of Cyprus. This is stated in the press release of the Council of the European Union, reports TASS.

“The Candidate Countries Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Albania, and the EFTA country Iceland, member of the European Economic Area, align themselves with this decision,” the press release reads. The document states that now the specified countries will ensure that their national policies conform to the Council Decision.
