YEREVAN. – Once again, it has been widely circulated in the public that the broadcasting of foreign-language TV channels poses a threat to Armenia's national security, with a particular emphasis on Russian TV channels, which we strongly condemn. This is stated in the statement of the Communist Party of Armenia.

"The opinion of a multitude of audiences is not taken into account, and by doing so, an attempt is made to drive a wedge once more into the friendship of the two fraternal peoples," the statement also reads. “All this is solely aimed at the deterioration and decay of Armenian-Russian relations, which directly contradicts the Prime Minister's statement that there is no issue of banning [in Armenia] Russian TV channels.

“The Communist Party of Armenia urges to refrain from such self-activity, to clarify the state's position on the broadcasting of Russian TV channels in order to rule out in the future  the government officials’ such irresponsible and nonsensical statements that threaten the two countries' allied and strategic relations. Keep your hands off Russian TV channels."
