I rule out that ex-president of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan has an illegal weapon or narcotic drug. This is what his attorney Amram Makinyan told reporters today.
“Mr. Hayrapetyan hasn’t been a part of any investigative or procedural action. He has stated that he has no illegal weapon or ammunition. Some documents were prepared. The whole process could have lasted no more than 15 minutes, but no action was taken for three hours. There was an assignment to kill time for three hours,” he stated.
According to Makinyan, Ruben Hayrapetyan’s car was kept in the yard of the building of the Police of Armenia. “Mr. Hayrapetyan and his two friends were apprehended on the suspicion of keeping and bearing illegal weapons. The police didn’t detect anything. I would like to state the fact that the police aren’t giving us Hayrapetyan’s car and explain that the car needs to be inspected. We’re not going to let this happen,” he said.
Talking about the future actions, Makinyan said he will file a report to the Prosecutor General’s Office and demand that the police explain why they have frozen Hayrapetyan’s assets. He also expressed confidence that Hayrapetyan’s apprehension is unlawful.
