The National Security Servia of Armenia stopped an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of drugs.
According to the NSS press service, when inspecting luggage of an Iranian citizen flying to Kyiv from Yerevan, a large consignment of opium, hidden in sweets, was discovered. The lady planned to deliver the drug to the UK through Ukraine.
During the investigation, it was established that the lady arrived in Armenia on February 12 with a Tehran-Yerevan flight and settled in a hotel. The drug was handed over to her by an accomplice. A criminal case has been opened. The lady and her accomplice have been detained.
