YEREVAN. – At today's Cabinet meeting of the government, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the results of the report on Armenia's performance in global indicators.

The Prime Minister said that the indicator on the quality of life in the country has made very little progress, according to cities, its position has dropped in the indicator of economic freedom, and they need to understand what the reason is.

"We have a serious problem in the Global Gender Gap Report, which is about sex-selective abortions, and this is an unacceptable phenomenon," he said.

Pashinyan noted that although Armenia is in the lowest positions in the world in this respect, the majority of the country's population is women, but of course the Nagorno-Karabakh War played a role here.

"We have only improved our positions by just one point in the Global Competitiveness Report," the PM said. "That should also be in the context of what we have to do to improve the global image of our country."

Pashinyan noted that in 90 percent of these reports Armenia has a major positive record democracy, freedom of speech and press and in the fight against corruption, and the country is making considerable progress in dozens of reports.
