YEREVAN. – In 2020, the economic growth will not be zero, but we will record a decline. The Minister of Economy, Tigran Khachatryan, on Monday mentioned this in a talk with journalists in the National Assembly of Armenia.

"That was already in the government's assessment when the amendment to the budget law was brought to the parliament; there was talk there of a two-percent economic decline. Under these conditions, of course, we assume that organizations must be able to surmount with minimal losses to the maximum extent, with the strength of our target support. But the reality is objective, and it is not possible to get out of it without losses. It is very important for businesses to be able to maintain their potential," the minister added.

And asked whether there were branches in Armenia for which it will be difficult to repair the damage, or will be closed, Khachatryan answered: "Maybe there will be such organizations, but not domains. The biggest difficulties are before the organizations of the tourism sector. But there are also organizations there that are more flexible and can overcome the difficulties faster. When Armenia reopens to international tourism, they can draw—with their creative proposals—people toward Armenia.”
