YEREVAN. – Early Sunday morning, officers from the National Security Service (NSS) entered the mansion of Ishkhan Zakaryan, former chairman of the Audit Chamber of Armenia, trying to find some papers related to the parliamentary elections in 2017. After the respective search, Zakaryan was taken to the NSS.

His lawyer Gegham Hakobyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that Ishkhan Zakaryan was questioned at the NSS as a witness, but with the rights of a suspect, in connection with the criminal case into election bribe, and involving opposition Prosperous Armenia Party leader, MP, and business tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan. "Before that, Ishkhan Zakaryan did not receive any notice. This morning there was a search of the house, then he was summoned to the NSS for questioning, which lasted four hours," Hakobyan added.

According to him, nothing was confiscated during the search of the house, and Zakaryan’s weapons were legal.
