President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian has sent a letter to President of the Education Above All Foundation and UN Sustainable Development Goals Advocate, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Misned, welcoming her personal efforts to declare September 9th as the International Day to Protect Education from Attack.
“It is extremely important for schools to be safe and conflict-free sites. As a country that has ratified the Safe Schools Declaration, Armenia reaffirms its commitment to the global efforts to ensure ongoing education and safety for educational institutions and their entire personnel during conflicts.
I am also certain that only through great and combined efforts will we able to ensure safety in school environments during this difficult period for mankind,” President Sarkissian’s letter particularly reads.
