Yesterday, the European Parliament approved its official proposals on the Eastern Partnership, addressed to the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. Gayane Abrahamyan, a member of the majority My Step faction in the National Assembly of Armenia, on Saturday wrote about this on her Facebook page. She added as follows, in particular:

The European Parliament proposes [to the aforesaid organizations and official] to "reaffirm their support for the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and their Fundamental Principles of 2009,” “with the aim of reaching a settlement based on international law, the UN Charter, and based on the norms and principles of the OSCE Helsinki Final Act in 1975.”

The European Parliament also called on the above-mentioned bodies to "encourage all parties [to the conflict] to intensify the dialogue and refrain from inflammatory rhetoric, which will further jeopardize any prospects for a settlement."

Thus, in the last three days, the message of the Bureau of the Euronest PA [Parliamentary Assembly] was published, in which in the very first paragraph (…) it emphasizes the RIGHT TO SELF-DETERMINATION.
