YEREVAN. – The Prosecutor General’s Office has confirmed the indictment of Armenia’s former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan, former Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Levon Yeranosyan and several others, and sent the case to court. Arevik Khachatryan, head of the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, confirmed this information to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to the Special Investigation Service state, during the investigation of an ongoing criminal case, cases of abuse of office, official fraud, and large-scale embezzlement from state funds were exposed regarding some former high-ranking officials of the Police of Armenia—including Vladimir Gasparyan and Levon Yeranosyan—and as a result, the state had suffered a loss of about 114 million drams.
