Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov says the US government’s statements on Russian officials’ involvement in Alexei Navalny’s ‘poisoning’ are groundless, according to RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Pompeo had told US reporter Ben Shapiro that ‘when people see that attempts are made to poison dissidents, they realize that there is a possibility that it was done by Russian officials’.

“Russia is used to hearing groundless statements,” Lavrov said, adding that Germany isn’t responding to Russia’s inquiries over the situation surrounding Navalny, but is demanding an inquiry, and this reminds him of the incidents related to Solsberry and Boeing MH17.
