A Russian Mi-24 helicopter was shot down from MANPADS over Armenia near the border with Azerbaijan, the Russian defense ministry said.

The Russian Mi-24 fell in a mountainous area in Armenia, two crew members were killed, the third was taken to the airfield with injuries, TASS reported referring to the ministry.

The defense ministry reported that the command of the 102nd military base of Russia in Armenia is figuring out who shot down the Russian Mi-24 helicopter over the territory of this country.

According to the statement, the helicopter lost control after being hit and fell in a mountainous area in Armenia.

Two crew members were killed, and one was injured.
