At the suggestion of the UNESCO World Heritage Center, experts can be engaged in preserving the cultural values in Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)], Eleonora Mitrofanova, Ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told RIA Novosti.

"The involvement of UNESCO in the process of preservation of Nagorno-Karabakh's cultural heritage sites will not be easy," said Mitrofanova, a former Permanent Delegate of the Russian Federation to UNESCO. According to her, "there are no World Heritage sites in this area."

"At the same time, at a special request, it is possible to engage experts proposed by the [UNESCO] World Heritage Center," said the Ambassador-at-large of the Russian MFA.
