Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan held phone talks with Director-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie Louise Mushikiwabo, at the initiative of the latter.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Mushikiwabo for the attention that she paid and support that she provided during the difficult days for Armenia, called his interlocutor’s attention to the fact that Turkey engaged thousands of terrorist mercenaries during the Azerbaijani-Turkish military aggression against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and stated that the presence of those terrorist mercenaries currently poses a serious threat to regional and international security.

The parties attached importance to the preservation of the Armenian religious, historical and cultural heritage in Artsakh which is under the sovereignty of Azerbaijan and indicated the fact that the release of captives and hostages and the return of missing persons is a priority.

Mushikiwabo expressed her support to the Prime Minister, attached importance to Armenia’s role in the International Organization of La Francophonie and assured that she would do make every effort for further strengthening of the cooperation with Armenia within the scope of the Organization. She also transmitted the cordial greetings of the President of Rwanda, her country.
