The authorities are obliged to explain, clarify in detail what specific developments or solutions are envisaged after this [recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)] war, in connection with the borders of our country. Arman Tatoyan, the Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia, wrote this on Facebook.

"And they should do that not because they have to neutralize the consequences of the unexpected developments related to the security of our country, or to alleviate the public anger over these unexpected developments.

It must ultimately be realized that we are talking about the defense of our state, the physical security and safety of our people and each person.

One should not keep the society in uncertainty, create alarming conditions for people and especially for the residents of border villages, and with all that disrupt the mental immunity, keep people in constant tension.

These are the direct obligations of the state, the positive obligations towards each person," Tatoyan added.
