The president of Armenian football federation, MP Rouben Hayrapetyan told SovSport newspaper that he counts on Armenia’s victory over Russia on Saturday in St. Petersburg.
“We were cordially accepted in St. Petersburg. And I am sure it would have been the same in Moscow too,” stated Hayrapetyan.
To the question whether nationalist attitude growth is observed among Russian football fans, Hayrapetyan answered that he did not share the attitude, as Russian and Armenian nations are friends for a long time. And if there are nationalists in Russia, they form minority.
Armenian football federation president criticized the draw between Armenian and Russian players in March in Armenia, as Armenian players were not worse than Russians. Hayrapetyan counts on victory in St. Petersburg, as he is a maximalist and demands the same from Armenian players.
