Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan today chaired a consultation devoted to the process of providing prosthetic implants for servicemen with disabilities.

During the consultation, Avinyan said it is necessary to clarify the current situation, touch upon the main issues, including needs and abilities assessment, establishment of the special procedure for providing prosthetic implants, identification of beneficiaries, etc.

Avinyan also stated that the provision of prosthetic implants for servicemen with disabilities is one of the key priorities of the Armenian government and has to be done at the highest level.

The general picture of the situation in the process of providing prosthetic implants and the activities being carried out to specify the numbers on a daily basis were discussed during the consultation. The issues related to the organizing of the process of providing prosthetic implants to people who were wounded (injured) during the war were discussed separately.

Avinyan set two major principles for implementation of activities, including introduction of high standards and definition of sequence of persons to receive prosthetic implants according to need, priority and target.
