Gagik Jhangiryan and Davit Khachaturyan, the two candidates nominated to the position of member of the Supreme Judicial Council by the My Step faction of the National Assembly of Armenia, were elected through a closed secret ballot.

Presenting the results of the vote, Chairman of the Counting Committee of the National Assembly Vahagn Hovakimyan announced that 89 of the 132 deputies had participated in the vote. Gagik Jhangiryan garnered 86 votes “in favor” and 3 votes “against”, while Davit Khachaturyan garnered 85 votes “in favor” and 3 votes “against”, and one ballot was declared as invalid.

The Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia opposition factions didn’t participate in the discussion and vote since they had boycotted the process.
