Citizens of Georgia held a protest in central Tbilisi and presented an ultimatum to the Georgian government, demanding that the latter lift the restrictions set due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Georgia News reported.

The activists and average citizens promise to start picketing near governmental institutions, if the government doesn’t make concession within 48 hours.

Hundreds of people gathered near the government building in central Tbilisi to justify the extension of the restrictions.

The participants of the rally announced with the hashtag # სოცაფეთქება (social explosion) on Facebook are restorers, car importers, skiing instructors, actors, as well as representatives of several other sectors who were predominantly affected by the restrictions. They are joined by civic activists and members of a few opposition parties.
