At Thursday's Cabinet meeting, the government made changes in the decision to approve the state leasing support program for the financial leasing of agri-food equipment in Armenia.

The Minister of Economy, Vahan Kerobyan, presented the matter, noting that the adoption of this draft decision is conditioned by the need to provide state support for the financial leasing of agri-food equipment in Armenia, to improve the conditions of the state leasing support program, and to expand the leasing equipment.

The minister emphasized that this program aims to enlarge agriculture in Armenia; that is, to encourage the country’s farmers to undertake larger programs.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also highlighted this program, noting: "In 2020, we have two domains where growth has been recorded, and one of them is agriculture. This program also has a role to play in this regard. In 2020, about 9 billion drams were spent under the leasing program, 950 units of equipment were obtained by 576 beneficiaries; this is quite a large number for the Republic of Armenia. We completed this program very successfully in 2019, too."
