Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan posted the following on his Facebook page:

“There is a need to create a demilitarized buffer zone in Syunik Province in order to guarantee the rights of residents.

During this press conference, I presented the new concept paper of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia and specific evidence and facts on which this new concept paper is based.

In this regard, the international community has to take major actions because the process linked to the borders in Syunik and Gegharkunik Provinces contradicts, in principle, all that has been created at the global level for years and overlooks the sector-specific conventions and guides and the requirements for human rights.

Currently, the justifications for this new approach are being summed up in order to present them to the relevant international structures.”
