In February 2021, as compared to the same month of the previous year, the economic activity index of Armenia decreased by 5.3%; this is evidenced by the data of the Statistical Committee.
In January, according to the adjusted data, a decline of 8.2% was registered, which means that the rate of decline slowed down in February.
In February of this year, as compared to the same month of the previous year, a 5.1% decline was registered in industry, trade decreased by 7.8%, and services dropped by 12.2%.
Instead, construction increased by 1.1%.
If we compare the first two months of this year with the first two months of the previous year, then in January-February 2021, compared to the same months of the previous year, the economic activity index decreased by 6.7%.
In January-February, Armenia's foreign trade amounted to $925.5 million, which decreased by 12.2% compared to the same period last year.
Goods worth $354.4 million—a decrease by 5.5%—were exported from Armenia, and imports amounted to $571.1 million—a drop by 15.8%.
