Voting in snap parliamentary elections kicked off on Tuesday in Madrid, TASS reported.

Voting will take place in 179 municipalities in the region.

According to the 20 minutos newspaper, over 211,000 people have already voted by mail.

The main contender for victory is the conservative People's Party (PP), from which the candidate for the post of head of government is Isabel Diaz Ayuso, who currently leads the region.
