YEREVAN. – The circumstances of the 44-day war in [Nagorno-]Karabakh [(Artsakh) last fall] and the negotiation process should be studied by a special parliamentary committee. Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this while answering the MPs' questions at Monday’s special sitting of the National Assembly, during the latter’s debates on the matter of electing a new prime minister of Armenia.

At the same time, Pashinyan said he was ready to go to questioning in this regard. "My personal office and private [government] house are also ready for being searched. Although they have already been subjected to a mini-search during well-known events, if there had been anything suspicious there, they [the law enforcement agencies] would definitely have found it," he added.

At the same time, Pashinyan stressed that the matter of setting up a parliamentary committee to investigate the 44-day war should be part of the authorities’ agenda, and the entire circle of those involved—including the PM—should be questioned.

According to the acting premier, not only the format of this committee, but also the respective climate is important, as it was impossible to set it up in November last year. "I am ready [to be questioned], and I know I have nothing to hide. Let us agree that this will be one of the most important tasks of the new parliament," Nikol Pashinyan added.
