YEREVAN. – At around 4:30am on Sunday, a car crashed into an iron electric power pole on the Yerevan-Sevan motorway in Armenia, as a result of which two passengers in the car died on the spot, and the driver suffered injuries and was hospitalized.
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has opened a criminal case into this road accident, the committee informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
During the investigation, the two passengers were recognized as victims, and forensic medical examinations of the bodies were ordered.
A signature bond not to leave Armenia has been enforced as a pretrial measure against the driver, who has been questioned. A forensic chemical examination has been ordered to determine whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
The investigation is underway.
