The European Union has agreed on additional sanctions against Belarus in connection with the incident with the Ryanair plane in Minsk, Reuters reports.

According to the diplomat, the sanctions, approved by the EU ambassadors and to be adopted by the foreign ministers of the bloc countries at a meeting on Monday, are directed against seven officials associated with the aviation sector in Belarus.

EU ambassadors also signed a fourth asset freeze and travel ban that will be imposed on more than 70 people in response to the presidential elections in Belarus last year, the diplomat said.
