The verdicts of the three court instances of Georgia for the two criminal cases against ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili are final and not subject to appeal. This is what prosecutor Jarji Tsiklauri said during a briefing on Friday.

“By the verdicts of the three court instances, Saakashvili was declared guilty of beating Valery Gelashvili and murdering Sandro Girgvliani. Imprisonment for six years is chosen as a punishment. The court’s decision is final and not subject to appeal,” Tsiklauri said.

Georgia has launched a criminal case regarding Saakashvili crossing the border. “The Ministry of Internal Affairs is examining the trespassing by Mikheil Saakashvili. All necessary procedures and investigative measures are being actively implemented,” Tsiklauri reported.
